Where did all the high CBD strains go?
Well, in 2018, the USDA put new regulations in the Farm Bill that further defined hemp as an agricultural crop. One of the most important regulations was the change in definition of allowable total-THC (delta9-THC + THCa x.877) in hemp flower and hemp products to 0.3% (+/- MU) total-THC. Each state with a hemp program was to have a compliance plan submitted by October of 2020, but the pandemic forced the USDA to extend that deadline to 2021. In the meantime, the USDA's IFRs (interim final rules) were modified slightly to include longer pre-harvest testing windows, extension of DEA certified lab requirements to 2022 and destruction/remediation requirements for non-compliance. What did not change was the 0.3% (+/- MU) total-THC requirement.

The genetics available in the 2019 and 2020 growing seasons made it almost impossible to grow, dry, trim, and deliver compliant flower. It could be done, but only at great cost and effort to the grower. The marketplace was looking solely for the highest CBD numbers available as they were largely uneducated about the new requirements. Farms that complied (like us!) were at a serious disadvantage because there was no benefit to doing the right thing since there has been very little enforcement of the regulations historically. However, in 2021, things are starting to change! Not only are we seeing more states enforcing the total-THC limit, but we're seeing federal agencies enforce it as well.

Hey, what does "(+/- MU)" mean?
We forgot to go over that, didn't we? (+/- MU) means +/- measured uncertainty and it is a provision that accounts for the natural variability that can occur between multiple labs. It's also the reason why you'll see flower on our site that contains 0.34% total-THC.

    Surprised

Posted by Frankie Tang on Aug 1st 2020

The flower that I've gotten from TF so far has all been great quality however this strain from Friends in Colorado surprised me in a bad way. Price was definitely what attracted me however this was a "you get what you pay for" situation. First, TF is great with super fast shipping and quality packaging. I appreciate you TF team! I opened the bag and was greeted the berry aroma which I enjoyed. However, the actual flower I received is on the dry side and appears a bit dark and dull in color. I wasn't expecting to find seeds but this bag I received has no shortage of them. This can be a pro and con. Harder to grind since you'll want to pick out seeds before grinding. However, if you are looking for some seeds to grow at some point look no further. I recommend getting a strain sampler pack when it is in stock. That way you can get an idea of what you'll get before committing to a 1 OZ bag. You guys at TF are awesome and I look forward to more great flower and concentrates from you guys!

    Experience

Posted by Christian Watts on May 2nd 2020

Effects: Relaxation, Anti Anxiety. Pretty noticeable. Wasn’t too impressed by the buds, kinda stemmy, super dry, hard to grind. Smokes good once grounded down to dust, not harsh on the throat, taste is alright. Would purchase again BUT the larger buds.

Another good quality product. I have not been disappointed with anyone purchase for tweedle farm. They have teamed up with other farms to provide top shelf products. This flower has a pepper smell when whole an a hint of Orange when broken up. Smooth hitting when smoked. Not harsh at all. Smalls are my go to for price and have not been disappointed by what I have received
