Oh, the holiday season… a time of good food, even better sweets, and quite often, a variety of situations that could very possibly be made better with some CBD-infused goodies.
You know what I’m talking about - the family member who simply won’t stop talking about politics during dinner, or the kids who won’t stop fighting over toys (even though they received the same ones). Or maybe you could just use some help shutting down after a whole month of holiday planning.
Whatever it is, our super simple CBD-infused Chocolate Toffee Bars are sure to reinvigorate your holiday cheer and satisfy your CBD-infused sweet tooth!
For this recipe, we’re using our brand new 33:1 CBD:THC Chocolate Bar from our friends at East Fork Cultivars. They’re made using 70% dark chocolate, so the flavor is just sharp enough to cut through the rich, enamel-decimating toffee, but still sweet enough to not feel like you’re biting into a raw cacao bean.
Each one of these CBD-infused chocolate bars contains ~310mg of cannabinoids. We used 2 in our recipe, for a grand total of ~620mg of cannabinoids per tray of CBD-infused Chocolate Toffee Bars.
We used an 8in x 8in baking dish, and divided the finished dessert into 16 rectangular pieces. That left us with about 38mg of cannabinoids per piece!
- 33:1 CBD:THC Chocolate Bars, x2
- Graham Crackers, 1 package
- Salted Butter, ½ cup
- Brown Sugar, ½ cup
- Chopped Walnuts, ½ cup (optional)
Ingredient note: We used salted butter, because we love the mix of savory and sweet, but you might want to use unsalted butter. Also, if you’re interested in ratcheting up the CBD content in this recipe, you can use CBD-infused butter, aka cannabutter, to make the toffee!
- 8in x 8in Baking dish
- Sauce pan
- Silicone spatula
Preheat the oven to 350°.
Grease the bottom of your baking dish with butter.
Arrange the graham crackers in a single layer at the bottom of your prepared pan. These will form the crunchy base of your bars.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. While you’re waiting, you can chop those walnuts (if you’re using them).
Add brown sugar and walnuts to the saucepan. Mix until they are well combined. Let this mixture come to a gentle boil and maintain it for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Evenly pour the hot walnut toffee mixture over the graham cracker layer. Cover the crackers completely.
Place the pan in the oven. Bake for 7 minutes. While you’re waiting, open up your CBD-infused chocolate bars and separate each square.
Remove your pan from the oven and distribute the chocolate pieces evenly over the baked toffee layer.
Cover the pan and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, allowing the heat to melt the chocolate. Once its melted, spread the chocolate into an even layer using your silicone spatula.
Ok, this is the hardest step… You have to let the bars cool down completely before slicing them.
We hope you enjoy our CBD-infused Chocolate Toffee Bars!
