Bag appeal: Opening the bag releases mostly sweet but complex dank odors of pine, stone fruit, chocolate and mostly gassy funk/skunk strong enough that somebody a few meters away exclaimed, "Whats that smell!?!" as soon as I opened the seal.
Dense, and firm popcorn/golfball sized nugs of light mixed green and bright orange hairs look beautiful in their dusting of mixed amber trichomes. The Afghani landrace genetics from the pre '98 Bubba Kush parent are strong, a very good thing!
Combustion: Smoking a bowl produces powerful skunky, hashy, and coffee like odors with dark earthy flavors of black coffee, roasted chocolate, pine, hash, sweet fruit/citrus, and sandalwood. Tastes and smells like a house party from 1997 (see what I did there?) and the skunky scent hangs in the air for a long time with unmistakable and loud terpenes, perfect!
Effects: Head down. Body down. To quote a smoking partner I shared some Kush Hemp with, "It's like when you've been pretty high for awhile, then you start to come down a little and feel really sleepy." A bit of a creeper for full effects, the Afghani Indica genetics shine through almost instantly, then just when you thought you didnt get enough, they slowly intensify for 5 minutes or so, getting way stronger than that first little hint of a buzz, and sometimes it is unexpectedly stoney. In general it delivers a chilled out, sleepy, mildly buzzy/dizzy, yet functionally clear headed mental shift with a moderately happy mood lift and big munchies. Sometimes with higher doses it initially hits with a little bit of sativa like energy but this component is mild and short lived. The important mentally medicated state is easy to overlook as the much more prevalent and powerful full body stone washes over in waves of pronounced, heavy, surprisingly numbing, tingly, almost narcotic feelings of deep relaxation. The sleepy body couchlock takes hold and wont let go, it is powerful and while lounging horizontally is not exactly required, it is very highly recommended, so even though you dont need to, you might consider cancelling your plans and curling up with some munchy snacks instead. Bubba Kush CBD/Kush Hemp helped relieve my pounding headache, muscle/body pains from overworking, hangover, and even knocked me out to sidestep my insomnia, so the physically medicinal benefits are huge! It also delivers a decent grinning mood lift and some of the best anxiety relief I've ever gotten from CBD hemp, pulling me up out of mental funk without feeling overwhelmed or paranoid.
Recommended Rx: Physical relief of pain, stress, and tension, and mental relief of anxiety and depression. Good for appetite stimulation, insomnia, and overall mood lift. Generally for night time or late afternoon use but lighter doses throughought the early day are manageable.
Overall: I have leaned so heavily towards energizing Sativa strains (Hawaiian Haze, Sour Space Candy, Lifter) since I toke CBD flower as part of my morning coffee routine, I forgot what a treat a heavy medicinal Indica can be! I would recommend Bubba Kush CBD/Kush Hemp mostly for late afternoon and evening/nighttime use but I did enjoy it throughout the day, from wake n bake to bedtime several times in lighter doses. I was functional yet content to lounge all day on those few days, but I have also used it in the morning and still been productive and busy getting work finished with ease, again with lighter doses. The physical relief is amazingly strong and 100% top shelf medication, while the anxiety relief and mood lift is effective and notable, yet delicate. Overall Bubba Kush CBD/Kush Hemp offers a smooth and chilled out very mellow body buzz, physical relief, and a happily content mildly lifted somewhat sleepy mental relaxation.
