How do you get CBN?
CBN isn’t abundant in fresh or cured cannabis because CBN is the product of oxidized THC (meaning THC that’s been exposed to oxygen over time).
Where can I get CBN?
Just making older cannabis by letting your hemp plant air out isn't a good way of getting CBN. Instead, look for Tweedle Farms products with isolated CBN, like our CBD oil (tinctures) and edibles.
How do you isolate CBN?
The two most common methods of creating CBN isolate are solvent extraction and C02 extraction.
Solvent extraction involves taking solvents like ethanol and applying them directly to the cannabis plant to separate the cannabinoids. This method is more affordable, but it also extracts chlorophyll, the green, bitter-tasting organic compound that plants use to convert sunlight into food. As a result, extracts made with ethanol must go through the process of distillation to make a refined CBN extract.CO2 extraction is the method of choice for most mid to high-end cannabis companies. CO2 is cooled and pressurized using an industrial-grade closed-loop system into a supercritical state. In this state, CO2 is at once a liquid and a gas. Supercritical CO2 is then passed through cannabis like a solvent to access cannabinoids and terpenes without chlorophyll.
The resulting solution is evaporated using heat under a vacuum to remove all the gas and leave a high purity CBN concentrate. Afterward, CBN products need to be stored at room temperature, out of direct sunlight to keep their potency.
CO2 extraction is the pricier method, but it’s the industry gold standard.
CBN isolate that follows industry production standards results in precisely 1mg of CBN per mg of isolate. As a result, CBN isolate is ideal for infusion into oil, sublingual tablets, and concentrates.
Is CBN illegal?
A CBN product that's derived from a hemp plant that’s under 0.3% THC by dry weight or less is legal and not a controlled substance.
How does CBN make you feel? Will CBN get me high?
CBN is not said to have the same intoxicating properties of THC and, as a result, will not get you high.
How does your body process CBN?
CBN, like all minor and major cannabinoids, is processed by the endocannabinoid system (ECS). Endocannabinoids are neurotransmitters close enough to the cannabinoids made by the cannabis plant that the ECS can process cannabinoids.
The ECS is very important, with endocannabinoids traveling through the bloodstream, interacting with every bodily process telling cells what’s going in the body and what the cells should do.
Here are just a few of the processes the ECS is involved in regulating.
-
Inflammation regulation
-
Skin maintenance
-
Stress regulation
-
Motor control
-
Appetite

Is CBN better than CBD?
In general, a greater number of scientific studies have been conducted on CBD than on CBN's effect, but neither has had enough research performed to clear the FDA’s standards.
Can you overdose on CBN?
Even if consumed in great quantities, CBN is not harmful or lethal.
What are CBN capsules or tablets?
CBN-Rich Sublingual Tablets are one of the easiest ways to consume CBN. Simply give the tablet a quick crunch and let it dissolve under your tongue. You'll be able to absorb the cannabinoids quickly and enjoy a minty fresh mouth.
Is it okay to give CBN to my pet?
You should only give cannabis products that are formulated for pets, like Tweedle Farms Furry Friends Pet CBD Oil, to reduce the likelihood of adverse reactions and to dose the product properly.
Does your CBN come from hemp grown without chemicals?
The only type of hemp flower or hemp product that Tweedle Farms sells isn't grown or made with pesticides, sprays, or synthetic fertilizers.
Are your CBN rich oils third-party tested?
Yes, our CBD oils and concentrates are tested by Green Leaf Labs, a state and internationally accredited lab (iso 17025), that uses industry-approved methods to verify cannabinoid content and the absence of harmful chemicals and heavy metals
Does CBN show up on a drug test?
CBD won’t show up on a drug test since drug tests don’t look for CBN or CBD. CBN products must be sourced from hemp that’s 0.3% THC by dry weight or less to be legal. However, a drug test may still register THC even in these trace amounts.
Consumption of CBD may potentially trigger the production of the same metabolites humans use to process THC, which can also lead to a failed test.
This is why Tweedle Farms cannot guarantee that you won’t fail a drug test.
