How do you get CBG?
Since CBG is the precursor to other cannabinoids, it's found in tiny amounts in mature hemp flowers. For this reason, to get more CBG, hemp breeders are experimenting with genetic manipulation and crossbreeding to grow hemp flowers with a high CBG content.
How do you isolate CBG?
The two most common methods of creating CBG isolate are solvent extraction and C02 extraction.
Solvent extraction involves taking solvents like ethanol and applying them directly to the cannabis plant to separate the cannabinoids. This method is more affordable, but it also extracts chlorophyll, the green, bitter-tasting organic compound that plants use to convert sunlight into food. As a result, extracts made with ethanol must go through the process of distillation to make a refined CBG extract.
CO2 extraction is the method of choice for most mid to high-end cannabis companies. CO2 is cooled and pressurized using an industrial-grade closed-loop system into a supercritical state. In this state, CO2 is at once a liquid and a gas. Supercritical CO2 is then passed through cannabis like a solvent to access cannabinoids and terpenes without chlorophyll.
The resulting solution is evaporated using heat under a vacuum to remove all the gas and leave a high purity CBG concentrate. Afterward, CBG products need to be stored at room temperature, out of direct sunlight to keep their potency.
Where can I get CBG?
Tweedle Farms has oils, sublingual tablets, occasionally hemp flowers, Small Buds, and pre-rolled joints with higher CBG content.
Is CBG better than CBD?
Overall, more scientific studies have been done on the efficacy of CBD than CBG, but neither has had sufficient research done to meet the standards of the FDA.
Will CBG get me high?
CBG doesn't have the same psychoactive effect as THC and, as a result, will not get you high.
Why is CBG so expensive?
CBG is the precursor for all other cannabinoids and, as a result, is found in much smaller amounts in mature plants. For this reason, CBG requires cross-breeding and/or genetic manipulation to cultivate for consumption.
These are resource-intensive processes, which makes strains of hemp and products containing CBG more expensive.
Does CBG show up on a drug test?
CBG, like CBD, will not show up on a drug test because drug tests don’t test for CBG or CBD.
While every CBG product must be derived from hemp that’s 0.3% THC by dry weight or less, it may still be possible that a drug test would pick up on these trace amounts of THC.
It's also possible that CBD use will trigger the metabolites that the body produces to process THC. That's another reason why CBD can make someone fail a test.
For these reasons, Tweedle Farms cannot guarantee that you will pass a drug test.
Is Cannabigerol a controlled substance?
CBG that’s derived from a cannabis plant that contains less than 0.3% THC by dry weight is legal and not a controlled substance.
Does full spectrum CBD have CBG?
Full-spectrum CBD products contain all cannabinoids, including THC, while broad-spectrum CBD products contain no THC. There are hemp flowers, pre-rolls, and small buds with CBG, but you’ll find the most CBG in our 1:1 CBD: CBG Oil.
Can you overdose on CBG?
Even if taken in very high amounts, CBG is not lethal or harmful.
What is CBG Oil (tincture)?
Tweedle Farm’s 1:1 CBD: CBG Oil Is an oil that contains equal parts CBG and CBD. 125mg each in a 15ml container, 250mg each in a 30 ml container, and 500mg each in a 30ml container.
The oil also contains organic MCT oil and steam-distilled botanical terpenes to achieve a pleasant flavor and high bioavailability when used sublingually.
How does your body process CBG?
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) processes CBG just as it does all other minor and major cannabinoids. Endocannabinoids are neurotransmitters alike enough like the cannabinoids made by the cannabis plant that the ECS can process them.
The ECS is a crucial system, with endocannabinoids going through the bloodstream, interacting with every process, and letting cells know what’s happening in the body and what the cells should be doing.
Here’s just a few of the things the ECS is involved in regulating.
-
Inflammation regulation
-
Skin maintenance
-
Stress regulation

Motor control

Is it okay to give CBG to my pet?
You should only give your pets a CBD product that's been formulated for pets, like Tweedle Farms Furry Friends Pet CBD Oil. This way the possibility of adverse reactions is reduced and you can dose the product properly.
Does your CBG come from hemp grown without chemicals?
We only sell hemp flowers or products sourced from hemp flowers that are grown without pesticides, sprays, or synthetic fertilizers.
Are your CBG rich oils third-party tested?
Yes, our CBD oils and concentrates are tested by Green Leaf Labs, a state and internationally accredited lab (iso 17025), that uses industry-approved methods to verify cannabinoid content and the absence of harmful chemicals and heavy metals.
